LANDJUT 1989 edit

This ORBAT need a up date, Please look at the page for LANDJUT under units from Danish Army.

Great work! May I just point out a minor error: the armoured artillery btn of the (GE) 17th Armoured Infantry Brigade did not carry the number 175, but 177. The systematic number would have been 175, since all armoured artillery btn ended in 5 (165, 185), but the number 175 was omitted since section 175 of the german penal code (Strafgesetzbuch) covered homosexual acts and a "175er" was a german slang expression for a homosexual male. --DrTorstenHenning (talk) 10:15, 13 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

3rd Inf., 8th Inf., 3rd Armor edit

@Kges1901: I am back from work and updated:

Please check for errors and omissions. Also:

need to be updated with the new info. I would prefer if you could do that as you have the sources and can added them to the text. In case it will help you I can add the new info and you only add the sources in a second step. Please let me know how to proceed. Noclador (talk) 17:57, 15 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I already have updated the articles. Noclador (talk) 17:35, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Apologies for the delay. I intend to update with sources. Kges1901 (talk) 21:36, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
no worries, I had some time and did a quick update. When you have time let's continue the work. After we have done all the divisions I will update the graphics of the corps. Cheers, Noclador (talk) 22:03, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's been a long time, but you should update all of your US Army organizational charts. For example, File:9th US Infantry Division 1989.png has been pointed out by an IP on the talk page of the division articles as incorrect. The IP is correct that staff company needs to be changed to Headquarters and Headquarters Company and that brigades aren't commanded by Brigadier Generals, so just drop the stars. Colonels generally command brigades and brigadier generals are usually assistant division commanders. These apply universally, in addition to the other terminology nitpicks I had above about abbreviations and 'regiment' not being used in official unit designations of the US Army pre-2005. Kges1901 (talk) 17:35, 10 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Kges1901: I did an update of the File:9th US Infantry Division 1989.png, after I spent most of today going through sources trying to find the a more detailed sourced structure in 1989: en:9th Infantry Division (United States)#Organization 1989. However what the IP did is just annoying - saying it's "grossly incorrect" without saying specifically what is incorrect forces me to go look for a day for sources and info. If someone knows the structure to be incorrect, then put the correct structure on the talk page, so I can just update the graphic. Noclador (talk) 13:45, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I was able to verify the missing battalion numbers, but not which brigade the other two support battalions supported. Kges1901 (talk) 17:32, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

US Division 1989 - June 2020 update edit

Excellent work on the forward support battalions. In the meantime I did an update of:

Let's continue to work here and update all the 18 divisions of the US Army in 1989. Next I will do VII Corps, then III Corps. And a question: for the nine divisions of III, V, VIII Corps: should we copy/paste the division's structure from en:CENTAG wartime structure in 1989 and en:NORTHAG wartime structure in 1989 articles to the division's articles; or should we put a link in the division's articles that tells people to visit the two aforementioned articles to see the divisions' structure in 1989? I.e. See also CENTAG wartime structure in 1989#4th Infantry Division (Mechanized)? Such a link could also be added to the articles of the cavalry regiments, separate brigades, support brigades, etc. What do you think? Noclador (talk) 20:22, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Adding a see also link would be better as on Wikipedia it would be better to avoid articles becoming overloaded by lists of structures. Kges1901 (talk) 20:49, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Kges1901: added links / graphics to the division articles in the section "Done" below. Will do the rest of the divisions in the coming days. One thing re. 9th Infantry Division (Motorized): as the division had a roundout brigade, it should only have two forward support battalions, as the roundout brigades have their own support battalions. Noclador (talk) 01:43, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
However, the contemporary article by the brigade MI officer mentions a support battalion for the 9th ID's aviation brigade. --Kges1901 (talk) 02:25, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yes, what surprised me: none of the 9 divisions we did make graphics for until now has such a battalion for the Aviation Brigade. Either we're missing these battalions, or because the 9th was a testbed it received such a aviation support battalion. Also: can we check the number of artillery units of the 7th division? It seems excessive. Noclador (talk) 09:42, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think the 9th's testbed status was the reason. Per reports in American local newspapers that mentioned soldiers stationed there, all of the 9th's support battalions existed. As for 7th ID, there was no 6th Battalion, 6th Field Artillery - the existence of the other battalions is confirmed by army lineage documents. Battery B, 15th Field Artillery was the towed 155 mm battery of the 7th ID. Also added 4th ID's missing battalion numbers to CENTAG wartime structure article and 2nd AD's in NORTHAG. --Kges1901 (talk) 10:48, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Found this 1987 publication from the US Army Field Artillery School. Says the 5th Battalion, 15th Field Artillery was a I Corps Asset attached to the 7th ID. The publication has also a short overview of all the DIVARTY units of that year. Noclador (talk) 11:51, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I use the Field Artillery journal for FA unit details. But according to 1989 Red Book (listing of all FA units), which is the period that these structures describe, the 5-15 FA is listed under 7th ID DIVARTY. By then, I Corps Artillery only controlled National Guard battalions. Kges1901 (talk) 12:20, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Removed the "detached" entry at 7ID. Saw in the journal I mentioned that light divisions were transitioning to a 3x 105mm battalions, 1x 155mm battalion, 1x 155mm battery structure. (54x 105mm, 26x 155mm howitzers). So your 1989 source is correct. Noclador (talk) 12:24, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also on 7th ID, B-15 FA is not a battalion so you should be using the battery size symbol. The chemical company of the 7th ID was the 761st. Kges1901 (talk) 12:25, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you for pointing out the error, fixing it right away. I uploaded also the I Corps graphic now. Please check for errors. Noclador (talk) 12:29, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I Corps edit

  • The 9th ID aviation brigade's forward support battalion (administratively under DISCOM) was unique and it was the 3rd Battalion, 9th Aviation. (Army Logistician, 1989)
  • I Corps' support command was the reserve 311th Support Command (Corps) at Los Angeles (Unit history
  • That means that the 209th Support Battalion probably was a corps unit. Newspapers are definite that it was at Fort Lewis (at least until 1988), but I haven't yet been able to find any more information. It's possible that the 209th was previously with the 9th ID given its numbering and perhaps some reorganization eliminated it by 1989. Kges1901 (talk) 12:59, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Will fix these.
Fixed. I overwrote the 209th with the 3rd Battalion, 9th Aviation. It would seem logical that they used the 209th to raise the 3rd Battalion, 9th Aviation in the same location. Also: I found a source that the 4x heavy roundout brigades (48th, 81st, 155th Armored, and 256th) were all four fielding 2x armor and 2x mechanized battalions. So I fixed that. Next will do the XVIII Airborne Corps. Noclador (talk) 23:56, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

VII Corps edit

I added the 1st Infantry Division (Forward). The 4th Infantry Division (Forward) was disbanded in 1984. Noclador (talk) 13:40, 12 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ok. I don't want to update the graphic and accompanying articles before the reform is enacted. Same with the II "Grenada". I can do an update in 2 hours, once we are sure the new structure has been activated. So far the Spanish Army's website has still the old structure. File:US Army Europe Structure 2018.png Update edit

Hello, I was hoping you would be able to assist. U.S. Army Europe and U.S. Army Africa will be combining into one command and will have a four-star commanding general, as reported here. I was hope you could assist in creating an updated structure chart. Lieutenant General Christopher Cavoli has already been confirmed for promotion to general as will be assuming command of the combined command. Thanks. Neovu79 (talk) 03:26, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Will update over the weekend. Are there more changes or is the new 4-star command / name the only changes? Noclador (talk) 20:24, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That is the only change that I'm aware of at this point in time. I will notify you if there are new developments. Thanks again. Neovu79 (talk) 18:11, 3 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Neovu79 Updated. I also request the file be moved to "US Army Europe-Africa organization 2020.png" and I added the 839th Transportation Battalion at Camp Darby in Italy. Please let me know if there are any other changes. Best regards, Noclador (talk) 17:05, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Australian Army 2028 proposed structure edit

Hey can you make a new ORBAT of the proposed 2028 structure and add it to the wiki page please?

See info below

24 NOVEMBER 2020

AUSTRALIA: The Australian Army will undergo a massive reorganisation in the next eight years which will see additional combat brigades raised, a dedicated rocket artillery and missile brigade raised, an existing brigade refocused to digital warfare and the Army Reserve structure completely reconfigured with units equipped with next generation weapons and situational awareness capabilities.

The new expanded 21st Century Order of Battle is revealed in the Land Operational Concept Document which outlines Army's plans for a 2028 Army Objective Force.

Initial analysis reveals an augmented force that retains the vast bulk of existing combat manoeuvre elements, but with a new Joint Fires Brigade to control in the incoming NASAMS 2 Ground Based Air Defence entering service next year (Project Land 19 Phase 7B), the Long Range Fires Rocket Artillery and Long Range Missile capabilities to be acquired under Project Land 8113 and the Land Based (Anti Ship/Strike) Missile System to be acquired under Project Sea 4100.

The three existing Combat Brigades will expand to four, with major reroling of entire Brigades and the raising of a (fifth) high readiness Total Work Force (integrated Reserve) combat brigade with substantial combat power in Western Australia to finally redress the ground combat imbalance in the western third of the nation.

Major changes include the splitting of the Palmerston NT/Edinburgh SA based 1st Brigade into two separate Brigades with substantial reroling of individual units.

Under the proposed 2028 Army Objective Force, 1st Brigade will remain in Darwin and rerole as an amphibious/littoral/light combat manoeuvre element with the existing 5th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), 8th/12th Regiment Royal Australian Artillery (8/12RAA), 1st Combat Engineer Regiment (1CER), 1st Combat Signals Regiment (1CSR) and 1st Combat Service Support Battalion (CSSB), but be augmented with a re-raised 4th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment Amphibious (4RAR) in Pre Landing Force configuration.

The Army's 10th Force Support Battalion will re equip with new Littoral Manoeuvre - Light vessels to replace the inservice LCM8 and eventually field the Littoral Manoeuvre - Heavy amphibious platforms which will be concentrated at Larakeyah Barracks in Darwin with a detachment operating from the unit's existing Ross Island Barracks in Townsville.

1st Brigade's Edinburgh Defence Precinct based 7th Battalion Mechanised Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR(Mech)) and 1st Armoured Cavalry Regiment (1AR - Armoured Cavalry Regiment) will form the foundation of a fourth combat brigade designated the 9th Brigade, reroled as a heavy armoured combat manoeuvre element.

Augmenting 7RAR and 1AR at 9th Brigade will be 9th Regiment Royal Australian Artillery (RAA), the former warehouse for the Army Reserve's 81mm mortar equipped Light Battery units which will become regular and re equip with the next generation 155/52L AS9 Self Propelled Howitzer and its supporting AS10 Armoured Ammunition Resupply Vehicle and 9th Field Squadron Royal Australian Engineers who will be equipped with the next generation Heavy Armoured Capability Systems (assault support).

The current Army Reserve 9th Combat Service Support Battalion (9CSSB) logistics unit and 144th Signals Squadron will be augmented with significant full time personnel to support the 9 Brigade Operations.

Both the Laverack Barracks Townsville based 3rd Brigade and the Gallipoli Barracks Brisbane based 7th Brigade will retain their current order of battle, but re equip with new weapons, situational awareness and sensor systems as they enter service.

The Western Australia based 13th Brigade will be transformed almost completely with a single Infantry unit, a Royal Australian Engineers Construction Squadron, an ISR element equipped with Hawkei Protected Mobility Vehicle - Light and a 155mm Artillery Battery equipped with M-777A2 Lightweight Towed Artillery and support units.

Other major changes in the proposed 2028 Army Objective Force are the complete reorganisation of the existing regular 6th Combat Support Brigade which will be reroled as a digital warfare brigade focused on Information Warfare, Signals Intelligence, multi spectrum Intelligence and an entire Regiment of the cryptically designated '9358'.

The 6th Combat Support Regiment will see its existing 16 Air Land Regiment (Ground Based Air Defence) transfer to the redesignated 8th (Joint Fires) Brigade and the 20th Surveillance and Target Acquisition Regiment Royal Australian Artillery (RAA) will be transferred to the 16th Aviation Brigade.

The Tasmania based 12th/40th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment will be reroled as a Regional Force Surveillance Unit specialising in lower latitude operations.

Special Operations Command will group its units within a new configuration designated Special Operations Brigade with the same structure (minus 2 Squadron Special Air Service Regiment) with an additional Army Reserve Commando Company being raised in South East Queensland within the 1st Commando Regiment structure.

The 2nd Battalion (Amphibious) Royal Australian Regiment will retain its current role as a Pre Landing Force, but may be returned to 3rd Brigade for administration purposes.

More to follow as we get a clearer picture of the proposals under the 2028 Army Objective Force. Jimothy 183 (talk) 11:06, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you for collecting all this information. It is a start to create an article and graphic about the future Australian Army structure, but there are still gaps in the information. I.e. what will the units of the Joint Fires Brigade be named? What new units will join 6th Combat Support Brigade (will that still be the name). Also, for adding this info to the article or creating an article we will need a source to reference the information to. Where did you get this info from? Best regards, Noclador (talk) 23:08, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi the info is a copy and paste from someone who is subscribed to the australia and New zealand defender magazine. Article is currently on the front page of their website, unable to post link here.
Info gaps likely to be filled in near future as more info is released to the public. Jimothy 183 (talk) 11:32, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I believe we will need to wait a bit to see what the unit names will be. If we don't have those there will be gaps in the graphic and I want to make a 100% correct graphic to be sure it can stay up for years to come on wikipedia. Is there any info on the Australian Army website? I looked for it, but I did not find any. Noclador (talk) 16:15, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok I understand. As far as I know this is very recent news so there wouldn't be anything on there yet. Jimothy 183 (talk) 01:09, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Jimothy 183: I put the above info into this provisional article in my English wiki sandbox: en:User:Noclador/sandbox/Australian Army 2028. When more info becomes available you can directly edit the new info there. Noclador (talk) 16:40, 28 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

File:South Africa Army - Organization 2021.png edit

Dear Noclador, the 44 Medical Task Group is not part of the 44 Parachute Regiment, but it is simply attached. And, more important, it is not even part of the South African Army, but it's a component of the South African Military Health Service, that is a fully separate branch of service (that in South Africa are Army, Navy, Air Force and Health Service), so it have not much sense to show it in a "South Africa Army - Organization 2021" artwork. I would strongly advise either to remove the entry altogether, or to move it to be bottom of the 44 Parachute Regiment units stack. connected with a dotted line (something like
|
|
|
|----
)
to mark the difference with the continuous lines used to connect the properly subordinated units, and adding an "(attached from the South African Military Health Service)" note to the unit name to mark the fact that it is not part of the South African Army. Hope it helps. All the best.--Arturolorioli (talk) 07:00, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

removed it. If it's not part of the Army, it should not be on the graphic. Thank you for letting me know. Noclador (talk) 07:08, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Overwritten files edit

Hello Noclador. I have noticed that you have been overwriting your uploads with updated, substantially modified versions, such as is the case with File:Portugal Land Forces - Organization 2021.png. This conflicts with COM:OVERWRITE. Substantially revised versions should be uploaded as separate files, so that the old versions can be used in other contexts, historically f.x. Overwriting should only occur for minor changes such as typos, higher quality versions of the same file or similar. Unfortunately a lot of your renaming requests have been approved since renaming requests placed by the original uploader are generally honored. I will be happy to fix the the file name reversions for you, if you could look into getting the files reverted to their original versions and instead upload separate versions of your revised versions. Thanks, and a have a great day. --Askeuhd (talk) 22:54, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I reverted you and would kindly ask you to change the File:US Army Pacific - Organization 2019.png file name as requested. I overwrite military organization graphics when new and more detailed information becomes available, which i.e. was the case with File:Portugal Land Forces - Organization 2021.png, where the basic military organization of the army has not changed, but unit names were changed and I found information about units, which had been missing until now. Therefore the overwrite was to correct an incomplete graphic. When a military actually does undertake a major reorganization that sees its structure changed then I create new uploads. Therefore your intervention in this case is unfounded and unnecessary. For an example of how I handle it when a military undertakes a major reorganization please see:

File:US Naval Special Warfare Command.png edit

Hi! I just wanted to give you a heads up about this file. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to remove it from the NAVSPECWAR command page because they (NAVSPECWAR) pulled a sneaky one--they deactivated nsw group 3 and group 10 last year with barely a mention in the news and reconstituted them under nsw group 8. Here's a mention of the deactivation [3].

I'm going to fix up the navspecwar command page's listing of groups and figured that the graphic would be confusing to readers since it referenced group 3 and group 10. Thanks again for all the work you do--I had thought those images were taken from US federal government documents and didn't realize they were all made by a wikipedia editor. Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 18:25, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Jasonkwe: - thank you for letting me know. Give me half an hour to update the graphic. Noclador (talk) 09:37, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Updated version - please let me know what other changes you want in the graphic before we add it to the article. Noclador (talk) 10:06, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Noclador Oh, holy moly I didn't realize you could whip them up this fast. Thanks!
From what I could see (the graphic in SOCOM's 2022 fact book is super blurry for navspecwar): (and if it doesn't list location, then the location you have is correct)

Group 1 has Team 1, 3, 5, 7. Special War Unit 3. "Detachment Guam". Training Detachment 1 (Coronado?). Logistics Support 1. Tactical Communications Command 1 (Coronado). (Special War Unit 1 got renamed as just "Detachment Guam" I think)
Group 2 has Team 2, 4, 8, 10. Training Detachment 2 (Little Creek?). Logistics Support 2. Tactical Communications Command 2 (Little Creek, VA). Naval Special Warfare Unit 2 (Germany).
Group 4 has Special Boat Teams 12, 20, 22. Also has Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School at Stennis SP Center.
Group 8 has Seal Delivery Vehicle Team 1 and 2; Special Reconnaissance Team 1 (Coronado CA) and Team 2 (Little Creek VA); Logistics Support 3, Training Detachment 3 (Hawaii). Mission Support Center (Little Creek VA). (Support Activity 1 and 2 are gone though)
Group 11 is good.
NSW Center: Basic Training, Advanced training. That's all they said. But I think the image can include all the detachments and other stuff listed currently except for navsciatts (which they seemed to put under Group 4. I'm not 100% sure that tradet 3 isn't the same thing as CTR Detachment Hawaii but it's a guess *shrug*.

The training detachments are the ones whose locations I'm really not sure about but I couldn't find more info. Thanks again. Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 18:00, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Jasonkwe: - Updated the graphic - please check for errors; also check if the chosen icons correspond to the unit. For further changes, I can do them tomorrow afternoon. Cheers, Noclador (talk) 21:42, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you! I noticed that the training detachment under group 1 is named Training Detachment 2 (should be detachment 1). After thinking it over some more, I think NSW should have all units wiped except for "Basic Training Center" and "Advanced Training Center" which is what most of the recent pdf's show. It's not great that the SDV Training unit has nowhere to go but I think it's still for the better.

NSWG-4 should probably have its symbol and the symbols of all subordinate units changed to the Naval SOF symbol (anchor with SOF over it) since they're SWCC.

NSWG-8 itself and Special Recon Teams 1/2 and SDVT 1/2 should all have the SEAL symbol. Mission Support Center should probably have the Intelligence symbol. Thank you again, I really appreciate this. Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 02:45, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • fixed Training Detachment 1
  • NSW Center: added Basic Training Center and Advanced Training Center, but left the Mountain, Cold Weather, and Seal Training in, as those three are known locations and separate from basic and advanced training.
  • NSWG-4: created a new symbol for those - check if it is ok.
  • NSWG-8: changed the symbols as suggested.
  • to check: are the unit symbols (battalions, companies, etc.) correct? Noclador (talk) 19:41, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • @Noclador Mmm, yeah, that's a good point, the Mountain and Cold Weather training facilities are definitely known.
For the Seal Delivery Vehicle Training in panama city, I think it'd be better to use the SEAL symbol for them too.

About unit size, there's several I really don't know much about, mainly the training and logistical units. Heck, I'm not that familiar with SEALs to begin with, I just stumbled over this lol. But I think it might be best to just omit unit size (like you did for the units under NSW Center) for the NSW Unit 3 and Unit 2, Detachment Guam, Training Detachments (in NSWG-1, NSWG-2, and NSWG-8), Tactical Communication Commands (in NSWG-1 and NSWG-2), logistical support units (in NSWG-1, NSWG-2, and NSWG-3), and the Mission Support Center. I really don't have any information on their size. Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 02:07, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Jasonkwe: removed all unit size symbols except for the units designated "Team", left those as battalions. If you feel the graphic is ready, please swap the old one out for the new one in the articles that use the old one. Cheers, Noclador (talk) 09:51, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Noclador Thanks! It looks great :). I'm going to input it now. Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 16:42, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Fuzzy edit

Hi there @Noclador, I'm working on re-finishing a lot of your old U.S. Army graphics. I just finished the File:28th Infantry Division Full Structure.png. However, when comparing to yours: File:28th US Infantry Division - Organization 2021.png, I noticed yours seems a little more, uhm.. Crisper? The colours seem to be better in yours and the text is more crisp compared to mine. Can I ask what opacity you use for the colours and words in Photoshop? Thanks for any help! Coldstreamer20 (talk) 01:31, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Quick update, you can see below I believe I've fixed my issue. On the left is one of the new ones with 100% opacity, and the left with the old 75% opacity. You can see the left clearly is the better and correct version, on the right is just.. yikes. I believe I've fixed my issue now, but if you can confirm your opacity for colours when using the paint bucket tool, that would be great! Coldstreamer20 (talk) 15:03, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hey @Noclador, I know it's been a while, but thought I'd let you know I've fixed the opacity issues completely. However I have noticed that my icons sometimes have a weird pixelated line above the actual icon File:34th US Infantry Division – Organisation in 2022 with Attached units.png for example. How do you get around that, I've provided a closer look image here. Any help is welcome sir! Coldstreamer20 (talk) 16:31, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Structure of the Romanian Land Forces edit

Hey there!

Recently I worked on the Wikipedia article for the structure of the Romanian Land Forces and was wondering if you could update the your organization image. The only modifications needed are the removal of the 6th SOF Brigade (as it has been transformed into a separate command since 2018), the renaming of the 191st Mixed Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to just the 191st Infantry Battalion (that's the official name), and the replacement of the 288th AA Battalion within the 1st Mechanized Brigade to the 55th AA Battalion located in Dej (the current version has the 288th mentioned twice, in two separate brigades). Also if you could change the Ş and Ţ (cedilla) to Ș and Ț (comma). Not that important but would avoid confusion between the two as the correct diacritics in Romanian are the ones with the comma. Thank you! Alin2808 (talk) 00:26, 23 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hello @Alin2808: . Thank you for letting me know about the changes. I updated the graphic as you instructed:
  • 6th SOF Brigade - done
  • 191st Infantry Battalion - done
  • 55th AA Battalion - done
  • change to Ș and Ț - done
If there are further changes required, please let me know. Cheers, Noclador (talk) 07:52, 23 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Nice. If anything else changes I'll let you know. Thank you! Alin2808 (talk) 14:47, 23 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Noclador Hey there again! Sorry to bother you, but I've recently noticed you also had separate organization images for the 2nd and 4th Infantry Divisions. Could you please update those according to the main file? I would've done it myself, but since you probably have the original files, it would be easier for you to do it. Alin2808 (talk) 09:09, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Done! Thank you for letting me know, Noclador (talk) 17:19, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Upload as new edit

Hi, instead of overwriting files like File:Romanian Land Forces - 2nd Infantry Division "Getica" organization 2020.png, it is better to upload it as new with year specified in filename. Overwriting an existing file should not be done except when making minor corrections. For more information, please see Commons:Overwriting files. Thank you for your contributions. Estonian Defence Forces edit

Hi and thanks for your previous work! I just wanted to notify that the Estonian Defence Forces has underwent a significant change and it now includes a division in its structure. Perhaps you can edit the graphic you previously made? Source: [4]https://mil.ee/en/landforces/estonian-division/ Regards! -- Estonian1885 (talk) 08:21, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Updated. Please check for any errors or omissions, and I will fix them asap; and thank you for having me informed of the changes. Noclador (talk) 23:45, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Seems fine mostly, though it is missing the 1st brigades artillery battalion. (EDIT: I might actually have to re-check that, I might be wrong) Both brigades will be (or are already) using K9 self-propelled howitzers. The divisions artillery unit is under construction, but is most likely also going to use some sort of self-propelled howitzers (either K9 or some wheeled variant - TBA). Another minor thing is the 'Coast Guard Division', I think the correct translation is actually 'Coastal Defence Division'.
Regards! -- Estonian1885 (talk) 09:50, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
On the Estonian language website of the Estonian Military the artillery battalion of the 1st Brigade has been moved to the division. Therefore I moved the battalion too. If the 1st Brigade will receive a new artillery battalion I will add one to it. I will also change the "Coastal Defence Division" designation. Noclador (talk) 11:25, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks! Yeah, that part was confusing to me because in general the talk has been that the divisions artillery firepower will come in addition to the brigades (and will include self-propelled howitzers, rocket artillery and loitering munitions). Right now the official information is not very clear to me even after trying to research this a bit. We will just have to wait and see, I guess. Anyway, I appreciate your effort. -- Estonian1885 (talk) 08:10, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I re-added the brigade artillery battalion, and switched the division artillery battalion to the M142 HIMARS symbol, as one battery has already been ordered for that. For the rest we will see. Also changed the symbol of the Coastal Defence Division to missile as it will operate Gabriel from trucks. Noclador (talk) 10:00, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You are right - we will have to see, what comes. I think there will be no artillery units in the brigades in the future an they try to develop an artillery regiment (with all 36 K9 and the planed rocket artillery) for the division... At least there is one fact: the former artillery battalion of the 1st brigade has become the artillery battalion of the division (adress, CO Allan Raidma, etc. have been "transfered"). For the moment there should be nothing left to be an artillery battalion of the 1st brigade.*SGR* (talk) 04:26, 11 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

35th Infantry Division edit

Hey there @Noclador, I noticed your recent upload: File:35th US Infantry Division - Organization since August 2023.png has quite a few missing units. So, for starters the division artillery doesn't control the artillery battalions (yet, that will happen in the future). Next, the combat aviation brigade has following units:

  • 1st Battalion (Attack), 135th Aviation Regiment (Missouri NG)
  • 1st Battalion (Security & Support), 376th Aviation Regiment (Nebraska NG)
  • 1st Battalion (Assault), 106th Aviation Regiment (WI NG)
  • 2nd Battalion (General Support), 211th Aviation Regiment (Utah NG)
  • 935th Aviation Support Battalion (MO NG)

Next, you have a '35th Brigade Support Battalion' listed. This isn't a unit and hasn't formed if it is supposed to be an upcoming unit.

Next, the 110th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade only has one battalion: 311th Brigade Support Battalion based in Lexington, MO; alongside the 135th Signal Company (Network Support) based in Kansas City, MO. So not sure where you're getting the 230th Engs, 175th MPs, and 126th Chems from. Also, the 110th hasn't been designated as a 'Protection Brigade' (yet).

Next, the 230th Sustainment Brigade. Not sure what you were looking at, but the brigade consists of the following: 105th Adjutant General's Company (Personnel Support) out of Chattanooga with the 230th Special Troops Battalion also out of Chattanooga; 30th CSSB out of Humboldt, and 176th CSSB out of Johnson City.

Next, you have the '891st Division Engineer Battalion', not sure if this is a typo, but the 891st is not a division battalion, and actually part of the 635th Regional Support Group! Which brings me to the 635th, which is assigned to the division (a Kansas NG Colonel's formation out of Hutchinson, KS). The 635th also includes the 169th CSSB out of Olathe.

Lastly, the MPFB has a colouring mistake. The MPFBs are not going to belong to the armored branch, rather belonging to the cavalry, assisted by infantry doctrine and support.

Hope these help, and if you need my references for these I'd be happy to provide them. I'm currently working on a order of battle of the entire National Guard (including companies, detachments, platoons, etc) and Regular Force, so if you need some help feel free to reach out!

Coldstreamer20 (talk) 01:46, 29 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you for this info. The 35th Infantry Division HQ sent me their presentation of their current organization and the changes coming later this year and in 2024. The units not listed in the graphic are going to move to a new NG division, which will be formed to bring the number of NG division to nine, each with three brigades. As the NG hasn't published their future organization yet I contacted all eight NG divisions and asked them for their future organization. Slowly their answers are reaching me and I also wrote the Army NG and asked them to please publish all this data on their website for us to use as reference. Best regards, Noclador (talk) 19:05, 29 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just an update, I contacted the 42nd Division (my home formation, Camp Smith is actually 20 mins from me); informed me that the division along with the NY National Guard will undergo some changes. They also informed me that on October 1/2 (the day the new fiscal year begins), announcements will be made regarding the divisions and changes coming up. Coldstreamer20 (talk) 22:15, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Perfect! the changes to the National Guard divisions will be massive and it is a difficult task of piercing all this info together, but we're getting there. Noclador (talk) 07:44, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Updates edit

Hey there Noclador, it's me again.. Just looking through your graphics and a good few are out-of-date, as you know. Thought I'd help..

  1. File:11th US Armored Cavalry Rgt.png: the STB is now a HQ & HQ Troop, 1/221st Cav was never part of the regiment, the 1/144th is part of the 65th FA Bde now, the 1st, 2nd, and Support Squadrons all remain now..[1]
  2. File:11th US Airborne Division - Organization 2022.png: the 1st BCT is now the 1st Infantry BCT (lost its Stryker title when it became 1/11th Airborne). This might help: #11th Airborne Division [2]
  3. File:12th Combat Aviation Brigade.png: This brigade in recent years has been reinforced, but not greatly. Only includes the 1/3rd Aviation (Attack role); 1/214th Aviation (General Support) including 'Company E' with C-12 and UC-35 transport aircraft for VIPs; and the Flight Detachment, SHAPE at Chièvres AB in Belgium.[3]
  4. File:13th US Sustainment Command.png: the 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command includes the STB, 49th Transportation Battalion (Movement Control); 61st Quartermaster Battalion (Petroleum Supply)[4]; and the 1st Medical Brigade only.[5]
  5. File:1st US Cavalry Division - Organization 2023.png: the 1st BCT includes 'D Troop, 5th Cavalry Regiment', not sure where you got 'C Troop, 10th Cavalry'? Ref for that:[6]. Also the sustainment brigade includes the 15th Finance Battalion[7]. Also a big one, you're missing the 3rd Cavalry Regiment which has been part of the division since October 2022.[8][9]
  6. File:25th US Infantry Division - Organization 2022.png: the 125th IEW Battalion (Division) was reactivated on 6 June 2022[10]; and the 125th Finance Battalion was reactivated on 16 June 2022 and joined the sustainment brigade[11].
  7. File:28th US Infantry Division - Organization 2021.png: So first you're missing the 55th MEB which (for alignment purposes) includes the 213th Signal Coy (NS) in Scranton; 337th Engineer Bn in Scranton[12]; and the 165th MP Bn at Fort Indiantown Gap[13].[14] Next is the 371st Sustainment Brigade (Ohio National Guard), including a HQ, 371st STB and 112th Transportation Bn. Next is the 213th Regional Support Group (Pennsylvania NG) including a HQ, 228th Transportation Battalion; 728th CSS Battalion; 108th Medical Company, 109th Public Affairs Detachment, and the 1928th & 1955th Contracting Support Detachments.[15] Next is the aviation brigade, known as the '28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade'[16].

These are just a few, hope it helps. Coldstreamer20 (talk) 19:11, 7 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Update about transmissions of France Army Organisation diagram. edit

Hi @Noclador,

I would like to bring you some update and correction to your diagram about the French Armée de Terre Organisation at the date of November 2023, specially about the transmission/ew/cyber (signal corp) parts, here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6c/French_Arm%C3%A9e_de_Terre_organization_2023.png

Correction:

  • 44 does SIGINT and EW, not only SIGINT.
  • 807 is CYBER, not EW. It is, for historic reason, a transmission company, yet hasn't done any transmission or EW since it's creation in 2016 and does not plan do to so. It's in reality the only tactical cyberdefense unit, therefore doing only CYBER.
  • 807 moved from RENNES to SAINT JACQUES DE LA LANDE in 2019 with the 785 (which is the city next by)

The rest about transmission is correct.

Upcomming updates about trans/ew/cyber: (in the following year)

  • 785 will leave RENNES for STRASBOURG to leave some room for the new 808 cyber unit (creation next year) under ComSIC at Saint Jacques side by side with the 807
  • ComSIC at CESSON will be renamed CTNC (commandement Terre du numérique et du cyber)
  • All the specialised school will move from special command (ComRENS, ComSIC, ComLog) to DRH like, ETRS, EDM, ETLO and CEER

The only public source I could found (date may be incorrect or changing)

Nice work for the diag.

Regards, BaguetteCyber (talk) 14:22, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@BaguetteCyber: Hello, and thank you for notifying me about the changes. Updated the 807 icon and location. Don't know what icon would fit the 44. I looked at your source: main change to transmission will 1 August 2024, which also sees creation of Engineer and Artillery brigades. So will do a major update then.
